Preparing for a family vacation for a big family is challenging. I, being the oldest boy has to help out a lot with every step of the vacation. Packing in itself is difficult because of all the bags, suitcases, and back-backs that have to be packed and accounted for. Just try to imagine packing something and then you can't remember if you packed it or not. Then you search throughout the bag that you think it is in only to find that it is not there. So then you have to look through all the other bags.
Preparing for a family vacation takes, in some cases, as long as the trip itself.
Now, the bags are packed your at the airport and now you have to check the bags in and go through security. checking the bags in is not that hard but it is vary time consuming and some times a little bit stressful. The security is one of the most challenging things for me because I always feel like I forgot something and because I am spending so much time trying to figure out what I lost I end up getting side-track and loosing it anyways.
Once you are boarding the plane it takes a little while to get your carry-on stored and seated. But with eight sibling it takes, what seems like ages to get seated.
Getting off the plane is not to bad and finding the place were you are going to stay usually does not seem so bad compared to everything else you have go through that day.
So all and all... a family vacation for us can be a different from what you might think of when you go on vacation.
